The Wild Atlantic way passes close to the peninsula St. John’s Point, which is worth a little detour. Travelling to the south of the peninsula, the actual St. John’s Point, the road is surrounded by a typical Irish landscape, with a great view on McSwyne’s Bay and the adjacent Slieve League coast.
The Killaghtee Cross, the remains of McSwyne’s Castle, a dream beach (Coral Beach) and finally the lighthouse are the sights of the peninsula. The lighthouse offers an impressive panorama over Donegal Bay.
