On the way to the Wild Atlantic Way discovery point “Traught Beach” you pass the remains of a Tawnagh tidal mill, which was built here around 1800. During high tide the water would enter the mill to drive the wheels, a unique mechanism that was used for numerous mills in the area. Nowadays, the mill is not only a remnant of the industrialization, but also an impressive landmark in a beautiful landscape.
