Only the fragment of a wall remains of the once so proud tower house Ringrone Castle. It served its owners as a base to protect the bay of Kinsale. In the great Battle of Kinsale (1601-1602) the fortress was destroyed and not much remained of it after the bombardment of the English. Because of its location and the beautiful view over the bay of Kinsale, the ruin is still worth a visit.
