Rugged cliffs rise out of the Atlantic waters at Mizen Head and the echo of the surf lays above the headland. At the western tip stands a rather unspectacular lighthouse, which can only be reached via a bridge. This 52 metre long structure spans a deep rock incision and leads over to the other side at a dizzying height. From Mizen Head you can also see the lighthouse on Fastnet Rock on the southern horizon.
