On a ride on the Wild Atlantic Way along the southern Sheephaven Bay you can catch a glimpse of Doe Castle again and again. The fortress, built in the early 16th century, dominates the wooded coast. Situated on a headland, the fortress is surrounded by water on three sides. A moat on the land side kept away uninvited visitors.
On the opposite side of the bay lies the discovery point “Doe Castle Viewpoint”. From here you have a beautiful view over the waters to the castle.
